Is Fomite (touch) transmission really a thing?
Contact transmission is infection spread through direct contact with an infectious person (e.g., touching during a handshake) or with an article or surface that has become contaminated. The latter is sometimes referred to as “fomite transmission.”
Ineffective cleaning or inadvertently “missing a spot”, can cause the microbial load of a surface to accumulate to the extent, that when inadvertently dislodged, i.e. banging on a desk, or smacking a plastic partition, can cause these particles to disburse into the air once again, greatly increasing the chance of acquisition by anyone in the area.

What took so long?
